Come out to Aretha’s Jazz Cafe on November 7, 2023 for live music performed by The Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra with Guest Singer, Olivia Van Goor. Scott Gwinnell is an award-winning pianist, composer/arranger, and educator born in Detroit, and residing in the Metro-Detroit area. He currently freelances as a sideman and leads various groups; the most well-known being the 16-piece Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra. Olivia Van Goor is a vocalist specializing in jazz styles. Known for her command of the stage and calm and cool presence, she has had much success in SE Michigan working with instrumentalists from all over. She has a natural feel for jazz music, emulating greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra. The Berkley High School Jazz Band will open from 7:00PM-8:00PM with Olivia and The Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra performing from 8-9:30PM in their “In the Tradition” Series. There is a $15 cover for this event.
