In the tradition of the great large jazz ensembles of the last half of the 20th century, the Skatch Anderssen Orchestra began carving its own niche into the Northeast Ohio area musical landscape around 1990. This powerhouse 17-piece big band is the premiere big band performing music of Basie, Ellington, Buddy, Thad & Mel, Maynard, Kenton, Woody and many more. Along with the Skatch Anderssen Orchestra enjoy jazz vocalist Olivia Van Goor. Olivia is a young performer with an old soul influenced by swing and bebop jazz from the mid-20th century. Music is undeniably a part of her identity, her voice being the instrument she communicates with. She draws from the Great American Songbook and other jazz standards in a way that is beyond replicating what has already been done before.
